Why does pricing vary so much?
The cost of A/C installation can swing quite a bit based on a few key factors:
Unit size
Not all homes need the same size system. Larger units—measured in “tons”—are built to cool more space, and naturally, they come with a higher price.
Energy efficiency
Systems are rated by how efficiently they cool your home, using what’s called a SEER rating. The higher the SEER, the more energy savings—but also the higher the upfront cost.
Optional upgrades
Things like smart thermostats, air purifiers, and other comfort add-ons can raise the price, but they also boost performance and convenience.
