Norwood is said to have a total area of only 10.6 square miles having around 31,000 residents. It’s located in Norfolk County and it was named after Norwood, England. It is part of the Greater Boston area. They offer a host of concert series throughout each year.
It was officially formed in 1872 but was part of Dedham prior to this. Dedham, known as the "mother of towns" at that time, encompassed fourteen of the communities and towns of eastern Massachusetts who have all become independent since then.
Most notably, Abraham Lincoln passed through Norwood during his presidential pre-inaugural tour of New England. Some of the other prominent figures who passed through for social or business within the town were President, and future, Supreme Court Justice William Howard Taft, and President Calvin Coolidge.
